Karen Holland joined her first Toastmasters club in 1998, and is now an active member of several clubs. In addition to holding numerous club officer positions, she has served as an Area Governor and Division Governor, chaired the Realignment Committee, and served as the facilities coordinator for many club officer training sessions. She was named Area Governor of the Year (2001-02), and Toastmaster of the Year (2003-2004). As Lieutenant Governor of Marketing (2005-2006), she assisted clubs with their membership building and retention efforts, and developed the District 28 Marketing Team to help build new clubs. As Lieutenant Governor of Education and Training (2006-2007), Karen directed club officer training, planned the educational sessions at two district conferences, and coordinated the District's speech contest seasons. As District Governor for 2007-2008, Karen will represent District 28 at Region VI and International events, chair District Executive Committee and District Council meetings, and work to improve modes of communication between the District and its member clubs.
